The
International Anglican Youth Network (IAYN) has been a
key partner in the life of Anglican Church for many years, seeking to act
as a link between provincial youth officers and young people from across
the Anglican Communion. On a number of occasions, notably in 2004 and 1997 with
the support of other partners, it was possible for us to gather young people
together to learn from each others experiences. A further opportunity for
this mutual sharing to
take place is being planned for 2007 when we hope to
welcome Provincial youth officers and young people for
another Gathering.
Welcome Message from the Secretary General of the Anglican Consultative Council
Our Aims:
2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the United Nations' International Year of the Child. This is an ideal opportunity for the Church to adopt 2009 as a celebration of children and childhood, and throughout the country there are plans to make it a special year for children in the church. It is an opportunity to highlight the issues, injustices and challenges facing young people today, It gives chance for work with children and young people to be celebrated and to facilitate new initiatives with and for young people. It has so many strategic possibilities not just for celebrating, but also lasting change and growth. For more details visit the web site: www.yearofthechild2009.co.uk
